The IRP Trainings is organizing two-day on-line and on-site training workshops on Managing Qualitative Research with NVivo Software. The workshop will focus on using various applications of qualitative analysis software (NVivo), which can analyze text, pictures, and video/audio recordings systematically and efficiently. The development of software applications made it possible to analyze field manuscripts, secondary sources, observations, notes and pictures/videos for advanced levels of classification, synthesis and theory building. The workshop provides opportunity to participants to learn and build capacity through hands-on practice on qualitative data analysis.

  • Resources: Participants are supposed to ensure installation of NVivo-10 and EndNote-X5 in their PCs before the day of workshop.

RESOURCE PERSONS:
Dr. Shafiq ur Rehman is an Assistant Professor of library and information science at University of the Punjab, Lahore. He has completed his doctoral degree (HEC sponsored) from France with highest distinction. He is the author of more than 18 research publications published in national and international journals of repute (HEC recognized) and presented nine research papers in international conferences. He is teaching and supervising M.Phil and PhD research in various department of University of the Punjab. He is also an approved PhD supervisor of HEC as well as official trainer of different research software like NVivo and EndNote. Dr. Shafiq has more than 16 years of professional and teaching experience in universities and academic institutions of Pakistan. He has attended more than ninty workshops, seminars etc. as a resource person and/or participant in Pakistan and abroad. He is the recipient of Info-share award of ASIST (American Society of Information Science and Technology) for the year 2012.  His current research interests are: qualitative research, mixed method research, information retrieval, information management, application of IT in research, information literacy and knowledge sharing.
Mr. Rahmat Ullah is a research scholar in management sciences with specialized focus on innovation and technology development. He has association with research works for last 20 years, as he started his career with dedicated research in Islamic studies. Now a days he is associated with IRP as Chief Coordinator to promote R&D culture in Pakistan. He has diversified experience of providing trainings, managing survey projects, developing online portals, initiating academic publishing and executing funded projects of development nature.  He has the credit of introducing numbers of research software in Pakistan, developing above 30 training modules of research methods and training research scholars in Pakistan and abroad.
